This means, you only have to pay 8% percent of the bail as premium, instead of the usual 10%. Basically, if your loved one’s bail is set at $10,000, you only need to pay $800 as a bail bond to get him or her out of jail.
To qualify for this discount, you, or one of the co-signers, must be a union member, a member of the military, a member of AARP, a homeowner, or have a private attorney. If you or one of your co-signers meets one of those requirements, you can get the discount.
